Galit Weinstein, PhD

Dr. Galit Weinstein, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at the University of Haifa, School of Public Health, where she serves as the head of the Epidemiology program. Her research focuses on lifestyle, clinical, environmental and genetic determinants of brain health, including cerebrovascular diseases, neurodegeneration, Alzheimer’s disease and vascular dementia.
Galit earned her Ph.D. at the Tel-Aviv University, and completed a 3-year post-doctoral training at the Framingham Heart Study, under the supervision of Dr. Sudha Seshadri. Dr. Weinstein was among the first to explore the link of liver steatosis and fibrosis with markers of early Alzheimer’s disease and dementia risk.
