Dr. Strowd is associate professor of neurology/neuro-oncology, assistant dean of education and scholarship at the Wake Forest University School of Medicine, and vice chair for health system integration and outreach in the Department of Neurology at Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist. As a researcher, his background in neuroscience provides a neurocentric approach to neuro-oncology and translational research. His research is advancing the field of neuro-oncology by discovering new treatments for glioma and innovations to improve the quality of life for patients with brain cancer or inherited tumor syndromes. As an educator, his mission is to inspire each student to find their passion and pursue it. He is a thoughtful, data-driven innovator who thrives when discovering new things. He co-directs the Medicine and Patients in Society course at the medical school which provides character and leader identity instruction to developing medical students. He is chair of the eLearning subcommittee for the American Academy of Neurology and is the current editor for Neurology’s newest journal, Neurology: Education which publishes original research articles in health professions education.
