Dr. Cabello is Head of the Pediatric Neurology Fellowship Program at the University of Valparaiso in Chile. He works as
Director of the Laboratory of Genetics and Metabolic Diseases of the Institute of Nutrition and Food Technology of the University of Chile, which is the national reference center for the confirmation and follow-up of patients with Inborn Errors of Metabolism. He has participated in the development of the Newborn Screening Program in his country, currently seeking to expand the screening from 2 to 26 conditions. Likewise, as President of the Latin American Society of Inborn Errors of Metabolism and Newborn Screening (SLEIMPN) in the period 2013-2015, he was able to collaborate with the promotion of these programs throughout the region. He recently completed a sabbatical stay in the Department of Neurology at Children's Hospital Boston. He advises several commissions in the Ministry of Health of his country on issues of Rare Diseases and Newborn Screening.
