Aaron Berkowitz, MD, PhD

Aaron Berkowitz is a professor of neurology at UCSF, where he works at the San Francisco VA Medical Center and San Francisco General Hospital as a neurohospitalist, general neurologist, and clinician-educator. He also serves as a Health and Policy Advisor to Partners In Health and Senior Specialist Consultant to Doctors Without Borders. He previously served in similar roles as director of global neurology at Brigham and Women's Hospital and associate professor of neurology at Harvard Medical School where he also directed the preclinical neuroanatomy/neuroscience course and was associate director of the neurology clerkship. He is a member of the editorial board of Continuum and serves on the AAN's RITE committee. He is the author of the popular neurology textbook Clinical Neurology and Neuroanatomy: A localization-based approach and the book One by One by One, about his work with Partners In Health providing care for patients with brain tumors in Haiti.
