Catherine C. McDonald, PhD, RN, FAAN is an Associate Professor of Nursing and Vice Chair in the Family and Community Health Department at the University of Pennsylvania (PENN) School of Nursing, a Senior Fellow with the Center for Injury Research and Prevention at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, and a fellow with the American Academy of Nursing. She holds a secondary appointment as an Associate Professor or Pediatric Nursing in the Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. McDonald has focused her research on the complex interplay of factors that contribute to adolescent morbidity and mortality associated with different types of intentional and unintentional injury (e.g. violence and vehicular crashes). Her research has been funded by the National Institutes of Health and the Centers for Disease Control and she is the Chair of the Young Driver Subcommittee for the Transportation Research Board. She is Co-Director of the Penn Injury Science Center.
