L. John Greenfield is chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Connecticut, where he specializes in epilepsy. His research investigates epilepsy mechanisms using network analysis of EEG. He received his MD/PhD degrees from the University of Virginia and completed neurology residency and EEG/Epilepsy fellowship training at the University of Michigan. He established an NIH-funded laboratory at the Medical College of Ohio, and in 2010 became chair of Neurology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. In 2016 he became department chair at UConn. He is currently President of the Association of University Professors of Neurology.
