Paul Garcia, MD, FANA

Dr. Garcia is Professor of Neurology at UC San Francisco. His subspecialty training is in epilepsy and clinical neurophysiology. Much of his professional life has been dedicated to building the clinical programs of the UCSF Epilepsy Center. His research has targeted improvements in the diagnosis and treatment of people with hard-to-treat epilepsy. His teaching is centered on clinical epilepsy education for fellows, residents, and students. Dr. Garcia’s university service has been focused on assuring opportunity for students and faculty across the campus. In his role as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, he is involved with faculty academic review and faculty development for the UCSF School of Medicine.
