Dr. Sima Indubhai Patel is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of Minnesota, she completed a medical degree (MD) from Rush Medical College, residency in neurology at Medical College of Wisconsin, and 2-year epilepsy fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Foundation. With a commitment to advancing healthcare and addressing complex social challenges, Dr. Patel's clinical and research pursuits focus on a range of critical areas. These include comprehensive epilepsy care, the surgical management of patients with drug-resistant epilepsy, epilepsy-related women's issues, and the promotion of DEI principles within the healthcare landscape. 

Dr. Patel's dedication to DEI advocacy is evident through her active participation at both institutional and national levels. Dr. Patel actively engages in leadership efforts to enhance DEI advocacy through University of Minnesota Medical School DEI Council, leads initiatives in the Center for Women in Medicine and Science, ANA IDEAS task force, Board of Director for Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, and Chair for American Epilepsy Society Digital Advisory Committee. Additionally, she spearheads the Women in Neurology Collaborative Study, a testament to her commitment to empowering voices. 

Dr. Patel firmly believes that strengthening diverse voices is key to unlocking innovative solutions for the multifaceted challenges our society faces. Through her extensive involvement, she is actively contributing to reshaping the landscape of healthcare, fostering inclusivity, and inspiring positive change.
